1 Kings 19

Today we are reading 1 Kings 19. In this chapter we read about Elijah being threatened by Queen Jezebel.“Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.” Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.” 1 Kings‬ ‭19:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ It is fascinating to see how Elijah goes from champion to refugee in a single day. When have you ridden a roller coaster of confidence? Who or what were you afraid of? In the midst of your panic did you think about how God has delivered you in the past? The triumphs of the past are an excellent predictor of the future. God is always in control. His angels are always with you watching over you and protecting you. So why are we afraid? In our weakness, we take our eyes off of Jesus. May God help you to remember all that He has done for you! Pastor Tim
