Today we are reading 1 Corinthians 8. In this chapter Paul writes about food sacrificed to idols. “Now concerning food offered to idols: we know that “all of us possess knowledge.” This “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up. If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know. But if anyone loves God, he is known by God.” 1 Corinthians 8:1-3 The church in Corinth had a huge struggle with pagan worship. Many of the Christians had a background in pagan worship. Paul is urging them to make a clean break with their past. Some of them were sitting on the fence. What about you? Are you sitting on the fence. Do you have one foot in the church and one foot in the idolatry of our world? What can you do to make a clean break? May God give you the strength to make a clean break! Pastor Tim
