Today we are reading 1 Corinthians 5. In this chapter Paul calls the church in Corinth to discipline a sexually immoral member. This is an extreme case where the church must take a stand against sin. The keyword for this chapter is “por-nei-a”. The definition is “fornication, it refers to sex acts outside of legal marriage”. Paul condemns sexual sin in the Corinthian church. The issue is especially troubling since some of the pagan religions included sex as part of their rituals. Our world today is also deeply troubled with sexual sin. We must personally battle against temptation in our own lives and we must publicly take a stand against sexual immorality as well. How do you battle against sexual sin?
