1 Corinthians 3

Today we are reading 1 Corinthians 3. In this chapter we read about divisions in the church. Paul says that the root is jealousy. “For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human? What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:4-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬ So all servants of God are the same—merely instruments used by God according to His purpose. God does the miraculous growth. That should give everyone comfort. The gifts we have are given by God. The faith we have is created by God. The opportunities we have are provided by God. As we dedicate ourselves to serving Jesus, we can trust that God will cause the growth. A saying I remember from college is: “work as if it depends on you but trust that God will cause the growth”. May God cause you to serve with confidence! Pastor Tim
