Today we are reading 1 Corinthians 13. In this chapter we read about love. “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 13 ESV Even though this is a popular wedding reading, the love mentioned here is not romantic. It is the love that God has for us. That is why having gifts, wealth and power is not the most important part of being a Christian. How is God’s love at work in you? How does that same love flow out of you? May the love of Jesus in you be obvious to those around you. Pastor Tim
