Today we are reading 1 Chronicles 27. In this chapter we read about the leaders and divisions David appointed for military purposes. “This is the number of the people of Israel, the heads of fathers’ houses, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all matters concerning the divisions that came and went, month after month throughout the year, each division numbering 24,000:” 1 Chronicles 27:1 ESV Why was it necessary for David to be intimately involved with the details of military service? How did this involvement help the nation of Israel. The flow of leadership went like this: God — King/Prophet — People. This covered spiritual, economic and military matters. David always did best when he consulted with God first. David got into trouble when he left God out of the process. How are you like David? Who suffers when you leave God out of the process? May you always remember to seek to please God in all your ways. Pastor Tim
