Today we are reading 1 Chronicles 17. In this chapter we read about God’s promise to bless David and his household forever. “Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and said, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?” 1 Chronicles 17:16 ESV For David, this blessing meant an end to the constant struggle to hold onto his kingship—peace, prosperity and security. Yet, David’s life continued to be a struggle. Did God break his promise? No. Rather, David broke faith with God and committed various sins. His descendants also rebelled against God and worshipped false gods. God removed His hand of blessing from the people of Israel a d allowed them to be invaded and conquered. How has God blessed you forever? How do you walk in obedience and trust in God? May His hand of blessing be on your and your family. Pastor Tim
